Calculus Puzzles

Match the proper function with the derivative information and the graph in a column.

• Cubic Equations One - Standard form, derivative zeros for data points, and graphs.
• Exponential Equations One - Factored form function, derivative zeros for data points, and graph.
• Radical Equations One - Standard form, data points with derivative zeros, and graphs.
• Rational Equations One - Standard form, derivative zeros for data points, and graphs.

A note about these calculus puzzles: The connections I am hoping to improve are the recognition of minimums, maximus, and inflection points to the derivative test results. The functions' end behavior, range, and intercepts can help match to the equation to the graphs. The puzzles are not intended to have students take derivatives but use other knowledge of the functions' atributes to complete the puzzles.
