Match the proper function with the derivative information and the graph in a column.
A note about these calculus puzzles: The connections I am hoping to improve are the recognition of minimums, maximus, and inflection points to the derivative test results. The functions' end behavior, range, and intercepts can help match to the equation to the graphs. The puzzles are not intended to have students take derivatives but use other knowledge of the functions' atributes to complete the puzzles. NewThe conic section puzzles below are under construction. The new links inside the puzzles, "Conic & Calc Puzzles," will not navigate correctly. I will be finished with the complete update of the Concept Connections site in July 2010.
Once again, translations of parent functions, or equations in this case, will be reviewed and hopefully become part of every math student's foundation of knowledge. Enjoy these new equations! (not functions since they all fail which test????) |
